Forthspring Inter Community Group

MUMO record launched

MUMO was delighted to launch its first ever record on 8th February 2024. This record was produced with Dumbworld who facilitated several workshops, supporting participants to create an AMAZING song about MUMO. Participants made the recording in Redbox Recording studio. St. Clare’s choir helped us to launch the record with some fantastic singing.

The launch was great fun as Brian Irvine from Dumbworld led us in a co-creation workshop where we created a funky piece of music/sound.

MUMO was on one side of the record and a youth group which meets in Forthspring – Ats Us Nai – on the other side. Their song was brilliant too.

One of the participants said at the launch:

‘… I just wanted to say how much we all enjoyed our journey with Dumbworld. Brian and the team are so good at what they do. We had the best time from the workshops to the recording studio, we laughed from start to finish and were completely amazed about how they turned a bunch of crows into a choir.

Writing the song itself was an experience, it’s amazing how a simple sentence can take the shape of a song in no time at all and how much we were able to incorporate so much of what we do and stand for here at MUMO. It was brilliant all round and I’m so thankful that I got the opportunity to work with such talented people and got to be a part of an amazing creation.’

Well done everyone involved.
